This homemade salsa is fresh, bright, and packed with bold flavor. Made with simple ingredients, it’s perfect for chips, tacos, grilled meats, or as a topping for your favorite dishes. Once you make it from scratch, you may never go back to store-bought.
Ingredients
4 ripe Roma tomatoes, chopped
½ small onion, finely diced
1 jalapeño pepper, seeded and minced
¼ cup fresh cilantro, chopped
2 tablespoons fresh lime juice
1 clove garlic, minced
½ teaspoon salt (or to taste)
¼ teaspoon ground cumin (optional)
Directions
Step 1: Prep Ingredients
Chop tomatoes, onion, jalapeño, cilantro, and garlic. For a smoother salsa, ingredients can be pulsed in a food processor.
Step 2: Mix
In a bowl, combine tomatoes, onion, jalapeño, cilantro, lime juice, garlic, salt, and cumin (if using). Stir well.
Step 3: Taste & Chill
Taste and adjust salt or lime juice as needed. Cover and refrigerate for 30 minutes to allow flavors to blend.
Step 4: Serve
Serve chilled or at room temperature with tortilla chips or your favorite dishes.
